Danny Stiltner was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 4, 1960. He is the son of Reva Stiltner and the late Blake Stiltner.
Danny resides in Elkhorn City, Kentucky with his wife Patty and two children, Danny Jr. 16, and Shelly Maria 10.
Danny was a member of the school band in Homer, Michigan until the 9th grade, when he moved to Kentucky and enrolled in Elkhorn City Jr. High and became a member of the school band there as well.
Danny was a miner operator for 17 years, until multiple mining accidents ended his underground career in 1995.
Danny’s dad was the late Blake Stiltner, who was a well known bass player, who, not only the locals longed to have play bass for their band, but also bands as well known as Carter Stanley, who propositioned him to leave Elkhorn City and join his band on the road.
Danny has played bass over the years with numerous Bluegrass Bands. He recorded his first 45 record at 15 years of age, with some local friends from Virginia. He then moved on to play with various Bluegrass artists throughout the years, Gurney Adkins, Robert Shepard, Bob Adkins, Larry Fuller, Dave Evans and Wendell Barley, just to name a few.
Danny enjoys playing bass with The Tommy Webb Band, he loves the style of the band as well as the unique overall sound that Tommy Webb has acquired.
When Danny isn’t keeping time with the band, he keeps time with his family. Danny Jr. has found he has musical genes and keeps his dad on his toes as he instructs him in Beginner Bass 101. Shelly keeps the whole family busy with her extra curricular activities and her love of cheerleading. His wife Patty tries to keep them all in line, while lending her support for all their interests.
